President Ilves and Ieva Ilves to visit Ida-Viru County

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and Ieva Ilves will make a working visit to Ida-Viru County today and tomorrow.

The Head of State will make visits to the renovated border and customs station in Narva, as well as the following businesses: S.H.A.R.K. Animationem Studio, which produces animated films and advertisements; InterVacTechnology, which manufactures vacuum blood collection systems, and Micro-Fix, which manufactures medical equipment from titanium.

President Ilves will also be given a thorough overview of the domestic security situation in Ida-Viru County and the problems that affect the security of the region.

Ieva Ilves will give a lecture about cybersecurity at the University of Tartu's Narva College, which will be attended those studying information technology at the college and students from local schools who are interested in IT. She will visit the pediatric department of Narva Hospital, where she will introduce a book by Latvian poet Inese Zander called Annaliisa analüüs (Annaliisa's Analysis) to the children at the hospital. The book was recently translated by Guntars Godinš and Leelo Tungal and published by Tammerraamat. As a patron of the SOS Children's Villages, Ieva Ilves will also visit the Narva-Jõesuu SOS Children's Village along with the Head of State.
