The President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, will participate in a meeting of the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian heads of state with Barack Obama, President of the United States, on 30 August in Washington.

The meeting in the White House will focus on security-related and economic co-operation between the USA and Europe, the transformation of NATO, cyber and energy security, as well as the promotion of human rights and democratic values throughout the world.

"Mutual consultations and an open conversation between good friends on issues that are important for all of us play a material role in strengthening the alliance between the Baltic region and the USA, forming an inseparable part of trans-Atlantic co-operation in general," said President Ilves.
