The Head of State named the members of the Supervisory Board of the Estonian Cooperation Assembly

The President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, has named long-term museum head Marika Valk; head coach of the Estonian Figure Skating Team, Anna Levandi; research specialist and political scientist at the University of Tallinn, Mari-Liis Jakobson; entrepreneur Raivo Vare; and writer Andrus Kivirähk as the members of the Supervisory Board of the Estonian Cooperation Assembly Foundation by his decree.

According to the Articles of Association of the Estonian Cooperation Assembly, the term in office of the members of the Supervisory Board will be three years; no remuneration is paid for the work.

According to the vision of President Ilves, the main functions of the members of the Supervisory Board are to establish long-term goals for the Estonian Cooperation Assembly and increase the social weight of the Foundation, which should focus on involving citizens and third sector organisations in achieving long-term goals of social importance.

The Estonian Cooperation Assembly, which was established by President Ilves in 2007 (www.kogu.ee), issues the Estonian Human Development Report on a regular basis, co-operates with the Ministry of Education and Research and the Education Forum to develop a long-term education strategy for Estonia, prepares the state management programme and coordinates the work of the Public Assembly initiative group at the beginning of this year.
