President Ilves: we are all in mourning on this devastating day

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves sent a letter of condolences to the President of France, Francois Hollande, following the tragic event that took place in the town of Nice last night, involving a track ramming crowds at great speed on Promenade des Anglais boulevard.

"I am appalled by the horrific terrorist attack in Nice, and the terrible loss of innocent lives. This attack reminds us once again of our common responsibility to stand against terrorism and blind hate," said the Estonian Head of State.

President Ilves expressed his condolences to the next of kin of the deceased and the wounded. "Estonia stands with the citizens of Nice, with all the French people. We all mourn on this dark day," he added.
