President Ilves to participate in the meeting of the heads of state of Central and Eastern Europe in Bucharest

The Head of State of the Republic of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, is on a work visit to Bucharest today to take part in the meeting of nine heads of state from Central and Eastern Europe at the invitation of the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, and the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda.

The discussion between the leaders of Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary will focus on NATO's next steps to ensure the continued and visible security of all members of the alliance.

Other important issues to be discussed at the meeting will include the ability of the European Union to cope with the current migration crisis and the goals set for the NATO Summit 2016 in Warsaw.
