Evelin Ilves attends ‘First Ladies and Fashion 4 Development’

Evelin Ilves has attended the 'First Ladies and Fashion 4 Development' event organised for spouses of heads of state as part of the UN General Assembly week in New York. The high-level meeting brought together first ladies, diplomats and leading figures from the world of design to discuss crossover points between diplomacy and fashion aiming to help women and children all over the world. Participating in the event as good will ambassadors were editor-in-chief of Italian Vogue Franca Sozzani, Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, WellBeing Foundation founder Toyin Saraki, actor Colin Firth and his wife Livia Firth and more.

'Fashion for Development' is a global initiative of the private sector in association with the secretariat of the UN General Assembly. A variety of programmes have been launched in Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, Botswana, South Africa, Kenya, Guatemala, Colombia and other countries.

Evelin Ilves also attended the reception for the spouses of heads of states held by Ban Soon-taek, the wife of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
