Evelin Ilves awarded the winners of a competition for self-made teaching materials

Mrs. Evelin Ilves awarded prizes to winners of a competition for self-made teaching materials at the Festival of Education, which took place in the Concert Hall of Jõhvi; the winners were graded according to votes given by the visitors to the festival.
Awards went to Irina Tarakanova, an Estonian language teacher from Karikakar kindergarten in Narva-Jõesuu, who presented materials for developing Estonian language studies, and Viktor Predbannikov, a physical education teacher from Jõhvi Russian Gymnasium, who presented a book entitled “Laste tervis on teie kätes” (The Health of Your Children is in Your Hands), which helps parents do physical exercises with their children.
An entrepreneurial school model as well as opportunities for teaching and learning environmental studies and methodologies of active studying were introduced at the festival, which encouraged co-operation between schools, kindergartens and external organisations.
