President Ilves will discuss the future of Europe at the European University Institute with the former Prime Minister of Italy, Giuliano Amato

The President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, is currently on a working visit to Italy, including Milan and Florence. He is taking part in a discussion on the future of Europe at the invitation of the European University Institute (www.eui.eu), which this year is being presided over by Estonia. His discussion partner is Giuliano Amato, Vice President of the European Convention, who has been the Prime Minister of Italy on two previous occasions.

The Estonian Head of State will also meet graduate students of international relations and European studies of the Department of Political Science of the University of Florence to discuss cyber security with them within the context of the European Union.

President Ilves will meet at the Chamber of Commerce of Milan with entrepreneurs interested in Estonia and will address a colloquium discussing the European Union internal market and digital market.

As days of Estonian culture are to take place in Florence, President Ilves and Evelin Ilves will open an exhibition by artist Epp-Maria Kokamägi, "Inglite aeg" (the Time of Angels), at the invitation of Estonian Honorary Consul, Luigi Cecchini, will visit the exhibition of nature photos by Remo Savisaar and Fred Jüssi, and participate at a reception introducing Estonian cuisine.

President Ilves will return to Estonia in the evening time on the day after tomorrow.
