President Ilves left for a visit to the United Kingdom where he will meet Queen Elizabeth II

This morning, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and Evelin Ilves left for a working visit to the United Kingdom, where the President will also be received by Queen Elizabeth II.

Today, the Estonian Head of State will give an opening address at an Estonian -Wales business seminar in Cardiff, and meet Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas, the Presiding Officer of the National Assembly for Wales, and Rhodri Morgan, the First Minister for Wales.

Within the framework of the Walestonia Festival, President Ilves will participate at the opening of joint exhibition of works by Vilen and August Künnapu at the St. Donat's Art Center. Additional information about the Welsh and Estonian cultural festival is available at www.walestonia.com.

The Head of State will also attend a performance of Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex by the Estonian National Male Choir and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at the Brangwyn Hall. A radio broadcast of the concert will be sent live by BBC 3.

On Thursday, President Ilves will deliver a speech at the London School of Economics and give a television interview to Channel 4.

On Friday, the last day of the visit, President Ilves and Evelin Ilves will meet Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.

The visit will end with a call to the Headley Court Rehabilitation Center, where the Estonian soldiers wounded on foreign missions have also received treatment.
