President Ilves is attending the UN General Assembly

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves traveled to New York yesterday, where he will attend the UN General Assembly today.

The Estonian Head of State will give a speech to the General Assembly, which will focus on current challenges, while also touching on the events in the Caucuses that have significantly altered the security architecture.

Within the framework of the visit, President Ilves with also meet with Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva, Serbian Head of State Boris Tadici and Lawrence Gonzi, the Prime Minister of Malta.

With Valdis, Zatlers, the Latvian Head of State, President Ilves will participate in the closing bell ceremony at NASDAQ and President Ilves will also attend a reception organized at the New York Estonian House.

The Estonian Head of State will arrive back in Tallinn on Saturday, September 27th.
