President Toomas Hendrik Ilves today departed for a work visit to The Hague where he will participate in a two-day annual conference of the European Council on Foreign Relations. The Estonian Head of State is a member of the council of this think-tank.

This year's discussions will focus on the aftermath of the referendum that took place in the United Kingdom last week and analysis of the outcome both from the perspective of Brussels and London. Discussions will also include NATO's and the European Union's relations with Russia, the migration crisis, the presidential elections in the US, the digital development of the European Union and issues related to Syria, Turkey and Libya.

This is one of the most influential think-tanks in Europe; current and former influential European politicians as well as acknowledged scientists and analysts are represented in the council.
