President Ilves: terrorist attacks in Ukraine would be impossible without units and weaponry deployed from outside

"I was heartbroken to hear the news of yet another crime against humanity, another war crime where innocent civilians were murdered by thugs with no respect for human life, for civilised values or international law," wrote the President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, in an entry in the book of condolences that was opened at the Ukrainian embassy to commemorate the bus passengers who were killed on 13 January in a terrorist attack at Volnovakha control point.
"I roundly condemn this horrible act by so-called "separatists". We know the truth, we know that none of these acts, be it Volnovakha or [shooting down a passenger airplane] MH17, would have occurred without outside troops and outside weapons," wrote the Estonian Head of State.
"My heart goes out to the families of the victims and to all of the victims of terrorism in Ukraine," said President Ilves, in expressing his condolences to the next of kin and friends of the thousands of people who have been victims of the violence and battles that have taken place in southeast Ukraine since last spring.
"Estonia is with you," he confirmed.
