"President of Estonia to visit Chisinau", Moldova.org, 3 October 2013

On October 3rd, the President of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves begins his official visit to Moldova, which is a political argument for the harmonious dialogue between Chisinau and Tallinn. In an interview for Moldova.ORG, referring to the significance of this visit, the Ambassador of Moldova to Estonia, Victor Guzun said that Estonia confirmed its support for Moldova for the European integration process and the successful implementation of domestic reforms in the context of the historic Eastern Partnership Summit to be held in November in Vilnius. Estonia has always been a supporter of Moldova, not only through statements, but also through concrete actions, which are intense bilateral exchanges and transfer of know-how, supporting projects in various fields, educational, social and cultural projects.

Toomas Hendrik Ilves stated this at a meeting in Bucharest with the Romanian President Traian Basescu, reiterating that both countries support Eastern Partnership countries and do their best for the Vilnius summit to reach its targets. According to the Estonian website "Postimees", Estonian official criticized third countries, which are currently pressuring Ukraine and Moldova in order for these countries to abandon the European vector, although they want to belong to Europe and see their future in EU.

"This is the choice of each country, we support it and we defend against attempts to redirect to another future through threats and sanctions" - stated the President of Estonia, who hopes that the Association Agreement and DCFTA will be signed with Ukraine and initialed with Moldova and Georgia at the Vilnius Summit.

During his visit to Chisinau, on October 3rd to 5th, Estonian President will meet with the Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti, the Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and the Speaker Igor Corman. Toomas Hendrik Ilves will also participate in a forum on digital security and will attend the National Wine Day.
