Evelin Ilves attended the Wine, Food & Good Living 2011 fair in Helsinki

Evelin Ilves introduced Estonian rye bread and food today at the Wine, Food & Good Living 2011 fair in Helsinki.

Evelin Ilves, whose recently published cookbook is entitled Gifts of Taste, prepared griddle bread in the model kitchen at the food fair, spoke about Estonian food with Kari Aihinen, the captain of the Finnish team of Masterchef and Head Chef at Helsinki’s Restaurant Savoy. Several small-scale Estonian agricultural producers also attended the fair.

The food fair is taking place at the same time as the Helsinki Book Fair, where President Toomas Hendrik Ilves gave one of the opening speeches to present his collection of essays, articles and speeches entitled Omalla äänellä (The Power of Words).

While in Helsinki, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and Evelin Ilves will also visit the Estonian House (Viro-keskus), which was opened on 17 September of this year. The most important Estonian-Finnish organisations that promote cultural, educational, tourism and economic relations are also present in this building.
