President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, who met with Estonians living in Boston and Washington as well as throughout the United States of America and paid a visit to the Estonian school near Washington, confirmed that the Estonian mind remains strong at this small outpost of our co-countrymen amid the vastness of the United States.

"The re-opening of the Estonian school in Washington shows that Estonians living abroad want and can preserve their language and culture and will pass it on to their children," said President Ilves.

"Estonia needs the help of its diaspora as you can act as credible and successful supporters of Estonia," said President Ilves. "All Estonians who care about the progress of their homeland can act as emissaries for Estonia."

The Head of State will today fly to Warsaw where the meeting of presidents of the Baltic states and Poland will begin tomorrow for two days to discuss the issues related to NATO's Chicago summit.
