PRELIMINARY NOTICE: The President of the Republic will make a working visit to the Republic of Georgia

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves will begin a working visit to the Republic of Georgia on Wednesday, November 22, where he will meet with President Mikheil Saakashvili and Speaker Nino Burjanadze, speak to the Georgian Parliament, and participate in the celebrations of the Georgian Rose Revolution.

According to the President of the Republic, he wishes to meet with Georgian leaders in Tbilisi before the NATO summit meeting in Riga. “Relying on Estonian experiences, we can naturally provide many recommendations for the continuation of reforms in Georgia and the achievement of foreign policy objectives,” said President Ilves.

The President of the Republic will have two extended one-on-one meetings with the Georgian Head of State. President Ilves will also meet with Davit Kezerashvili, the Georgian Minister of Defence, speak to the Georgian Parliament, meet with the Parliament Speaker Nino Burjanadze, visit the Soviet Occupation Museum in Tbilisi, and participate in the official opening of the Freedom Monument.

The President of the Republic will return to Estonia on the evening of November 24.
