PRELIMINARY NOTICE: The President of the Republic will make his first foreign visit

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves will leave for a working visit to the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Finland on Monday, October 16.

During the first half of the day President Ilves will be in Riga where he will have a meeting with the President of the Republic of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga at the President's residence in Riga. This will be followed by a photo session of the two presidents. After that President Ilves will sign the guest book. A meeting of the presidents with the delegations and a press conference will follow.

Then the President of the Republic will fly to Finland where he will meet the President of Finland Tarja Halonen and will hold a joint press conference with her. Following that President Ilves will meet with the Prime Minister of Finland Matti Vanhanen and Max Jakobson, a well-known Finnish public figure.

The head of Estonian state will arrive back in Estonia on Monday evening, on October 16.
