President Ilves to speak at a high-level North American security conference in Canada

The President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, flew to Canada today where he will speak about the changed security situation in Europe and the role of technology in securing peace and development at a representative international security conference in Halifax.

The Estonian Head of State has scheduled bilateral meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, John Baird, and the Defence Minister, Rob Nicholson, together with the Deputy Secretary-General of NATO, Alexander Vershbow, senators of the United States of America, John McCain and Ted Cruz, and the former Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Israel, Ehud Barak.

President Ilves will arrive back to Estonia on Monday, 24 November.
