President Ilves expressed his condolences to South Korea

The President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, sent a letter of condolences to Park Geun-hye, the President of South Korea, on the occasion of a maritime disaster that occurred last Wednesday, involving a ferry that capsized and sunk near the coast of South Korea. According to the information available, 64 people are confirmed dead and 238 are missing.

The Estonian Head of State expressed his condolences to all the next of kin and friends of the victims of the ferry disaster.

"The news last week about the sinking of a South Korean passenger ferry made me feel deep sorrow. This is a tremendous tragedy for South Korea," wrote President Ilves in his letter of condolences. "My thoughts are with your people in these difficult times."
