The Estonian Children’s Literature Centre has an archive library and an information centre. Exhibitions and creative competitions are also organised – for instance, the Nukitsa competition, the Raisin of the Year award, the Muhvi award, the children’s literature roundtable and story reading day on 20 October.

School bread project
Bread manufacturers are making bread for children’s school lunches at the behest of the Estonian Bread Association. The school bread is a healthy product made according to a recipe picked out by students. It contains 100% rye flour.


Tallinn Children’s Hospital Foundation Assistance Fund
The Tallinn Children’s Hospital’s Assistance Fund is a charity foundation that contributes to a more child-friendly hospital and brings the best possible medical care to Tallinn Children’s Hospital.


SA Estonia Agrenska Foundation
The Estonian Agrenska Foundation is a contemporary consultation and development centre for disabled children and their parents based in Estonia. The foundation develops assistive resources that support not only disabled children but their families as well.


Help the Children Foundation
The charity Help the Children Foundation was created by the Norwegian-Estonian Chamber of Commerce and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in 2009. The first project supported by the foundation was acquisition of medical equipment and hospital furniture for the children's ward of Põlva Hospital. Preparation of the charity campaign that aims to give cultural experiences to less privileged children started in 2010 in cooperation with Eesti Pandipakend, Tomra Baltic, Tschudi Shipping Company, Eesti Statoil and DnB Nord Bank. The project was first presented to the public in the park of the Office of the President of the Republic in Kadriorg on 18 May 2011.

The Home of the Year competition recognises the most attractive home overall as well as separate titles for people’s favourite, most kid-friendly home, best colour and lighting scheme, home with the best ambience and the most beautiful kitchen and bathroom. A separate prize is awarded for the cleverest design and the most attractive textiles.


A sub-fund of the spouse of the President of the Republic
A sub-fund of the spouse of the President of the Republic has been established in the President of the Republic’s Cultural Foundation. The sub-fund engages in charity and focuses mainly on the social sphere. Promoting healthy lifestyles and supporting sports are important. The major endeavour of the fund is the issue of the Young Athlete Award twice a year.


The 4th Tallinn Illustrations Triennial – "The Power of Pictures"
5 November 2013 saw the opening of the 4th Tallinn Illustrations Triennial "The Power of Pictures" displaying the best book illustrations of the Baltic Sea countries. The aim of the Illustrations Triennial is to introduce the best in their field in the Baltic region and to teach to understand a different high-level illustrations art. The artists from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Russia (St. Petersburg and Moscow), Finland, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia meet in the triennial. The illustrators of children's books who are recognised at their homeland and known internationally have sent their work to Tallinn. The main organisers of the triennial are the Estonian Graphic Designers Association and National Library of Estonia.

The “Become a seer!” charity programme lends a helping hand to newborns, children and pupils. The goal is to assist sight-impaired young people and improve diagnosis of vision problems in newborn babies.
