SOS Children’s Village charity auction is underway

08.11.2011

From 11 to 20 November, the SOS Children’s Village will be conducting a charity auction in the Osta.ee Internet environment. The funds that are received will be used to buy sports equipment for the children in the village. Participants have the opportunity to purchase a nice work of art or go to dinner with an interesting person.

On 10 November at 2:30 pm, under the direction of Epp-Maria Kokamägi, good friends and supporters of the SOS Children’s Village – Evelin Ilves, Kristina Smigun-Vähi, Mart Poom and Urmas Paet – will try their hand at painting angels. Two children from the Keila children’s villages will also paint pictures.

In addition to the painted angels, dinners at various Tallinn restaurants, with the aforementioned people, as well as Gert Tiivas, Joakim Helenius or Anne Veski, will also be auctioned off. A very special opportunity to be auctioned is a dinner at the SOS Children’s Village family house in the company of housemother Erika and her children. In addition to the dinners, the auction includes a short cooking course with master chefs Rain Käärsti and Allan Kuningas. Swissôtel has donated prizes of accommodation for two in an exclusive hotel suite.

Dinners will be donated by the following restaurants: Ribe, Dominic, Öö, Moon, Lucca, Chedi and Lounge24.

In the Osta.ee Internet environment, all buyers and sellers can also make donations to the SOS Children’s Village. Along with the charity auction, those making regular purchases on Osta.ee will be able to make donations. When making one’s purchase, the buyer will also be able to transfer a direct deposit to the SOS Children’s Village account with only the click of the mouse.

The SOS Children’s Village provides a family-based replacement home for children without parental care, so they can grow up in an environment of love, respect and security. The first SOS Children’s Village in Estonia was established in 1995. Today, there are children’s villages and youth homes in Tallinn, Keila and Põltsamaa, where over 100 children and young people live. In the course of a programme to strengthen families, help has been provided to hundreds of families in East-Viru County. A programme to strengthen education, which is designed to help children with learning difficulties, has been initiated in Keila and Põltsamaa.

If you do not wish to participate in the auction but want to help the SOS Children’s Village to buy winter sports equipment for the children, you can transfer your donation to account no. 221001178590, SOS Lasteküla Eesti Ühing.
