President Ilves on working visit to Ireland

The President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, will leave today for a working visit to Dublin, where he will meet the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins and the Prime Minister, Enda Kenny, and give a presentation on cyber defence at a conference organised by the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA).

President Ilves will give a presentation entitled "When Small Means Big or Why Can't a Computer be Bribed?" at the conference, discussing various cyber issues and introducing Estonia's achievement in the sphere of E-governance and cyber defence.

President Ilves has emphasised, in a number of reputable meetings and in earlier presentations of his, the importance of co-operation between private and public sector for the purposes of ensuring cyber security.

Evelin Ilves, who stays in Dublin at the invitation of the local Estonian community, will meet the members of Estonian Culture and Sports in Ireland and the initiators of the Green School project, whose objective it is to introduce students to an environmentally sounder and healthier lifestyle, using different activities and events as learning tools.

President Ilves and Mrs. Evelin Ilves will return to Estonia in the evening of 4 April.
