President Ilves speaking at a reputable security policies conference in Brussels

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves will tonight fly to Brussels where he will participate in a reputable international security policy conference Brussels Forum 2012, which takes place from Friday to Sunday and brings together shapers of foreign and international policies, experts and politicians from both Europe and the Unites States of America.

The Estonian Head of State will analyse the current status and possible developments of trans-Atlantic relations, above all, security relations.

President Ilves will also speak about the importance of the freedom of the Internet, while paying attention to the ever-increasing need to ensure cyber security.

President Ilves will also hand over Orders of the Cross of Terra Mariana in Brussels, awarded to the Commissioner of the European Commission, Joaquín Almunia, and his former Head of Cabinet, Gerassimos Thomas. They were awarded with Estonian decorations for their contribution to Estonia joining the euro zone.
