Estonian Head of State promoted Neeme Väli to the rank of Major General

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves today signed a decree that promoted Brigadier General Neeme Väli to the military rank of Major General at the proposal of the Commander of the Defence Forces.

Major General Väli, a former Commander of the General Staff of the Defence Forces, is currently serving as the Estonian Military Representative in NATO Headquarters in Brussels. Estonia has suggested him as the candidate to the position of the Head of Plans and Policy Division, NATO International Military Staff.
