President Ilves will continue with his established team

Most of his former advisors will continue in the Office of the President of the Republic with the President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, during his second term in office: Siim Raie as the Head of the Office, Heli Suvi as Advisor on Internal Affairs, Margus Laidre as Advisor on External Affairs, Ülle Madise as Legal Advisor, Ilmar Lepik as Advisor on Economic Affairs, Olari Koppel as Advisor, Jaanus Rohumaa as Cultural Advisor, Toomas Sildam as Public Relations Advisor, Mailis Neppo and Piret Arukaevu as Assistant Advisors and Maimu Sibrits as Advisor to Mrs. Evelin Ilves.

Sten Tamkivi will continue as Innovation Consultant to the Head of State; Toomas Kiho is consultant of the President’s Academic Advisory Board, e-health consultant Madis Tiik and also Märt Kivine and Kaarel Tarand will advise the President.

From 10 October, two new persons will be working in the Office of the President. President Ilves invited the former Deputy Head of Department of NATO and European Union of the Ministry of Defence, Andres Vosman, who is a younger generation defence official with experience from NATO’s Head Office, to become his Security Advisor. President Ilves, who always emphasises the importance of civil society, invited one of the initiators of Uue Maailma Selts (the New World Society) Madle Lippus to the position of his Third Sector Advisor.

Erki Holmberg, Piret Pert, Jana Vanaveski, Piret Reintamm Benno and Mai Piirmets will continue as head of Internal Affairs Department, Public Relations Department, Foreign Affairs Department, Protocol Department and Accounting Department of the Office of the President, respectively.
