President Ilves to participate in a security conference in Sweden

At the invitation of the Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carl Bildt, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves will participate from today until Sunday in an international conference, “EU Eastern Neighbourhood – Between Authoritarianism and Democratic Transition”, in Visby, on the island of Gotland.

At this three-day conference, influential politicians from several countries will be discussing the influence of the euro zone crisis on the European Union enlargement process, security policies within the context of trans-Atlantic relations and the situation in the European Union neighbourhood.

President Ilves will be participating in a panel discussion at the conference that will analyse security policies.
