President Ilves to represent Estonia at the meeting of heads of states and governments of the euro zone

At the proposal of the Government of the Republic and due to the Prime Minister’s foreign visit, the President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, will represent Estonia at the meeting of heads of states and governments of the euro zone, which will take place on 21 July in Brussels. One of the purposes of the meeting is to reach a consensus regarding the funding model of the new assistance programme for Greece.

The participation of the Head of State in the unofficial summit of the euro zone is related to the fact that the summit coincides with Prime Minister Andrus Ansip’s scheduled working visit to the United States of America, where he will take part in a number of high level events.
