The families of the seven Estonian citizens taken hostage in Lebanon need all of our support.  Not intrusive nosiness but rather quiet and committed support that says: your concern is our concern, we hope and believe together with you.

Today, to show this, the President, Mr. Toomas Hendrik Ilves put a yellow ribbon on his lapel.

In many countries wearing a yellow ribbon shows one's heartfelt support for compatriots in difficulty, hope and the anticipation of reunion.

Estonia is working internationally to bring our kidnapped citizens back home.  But we do not yet know when our compatriots will be freed.

A yellow ribbon says quietly but visibly: we know you are in difficulties, we hope for your speedy return, you and your families are in our thoughts. We await you at home.

A small gesture, a large message.  Everyone can make one with the simplest of materials and pin to your breast.
