President Ilves expresses condolences to New Zealand

The President, Mr. Toomas Hendrik Ilves, sent a letter of condolences to Mr. Anand Satyanand, Governor-General of New Zealand, following the strong earthquake that hit the city of Christchurch, resulting in many casualties.

“I share in your mourning following the earthquake, which hit the city of Christchurch today. I wish to express my sincerest condolences on behalf of the Estonian people to the next of kin and friends of the deceased, and to those who are injured and have lost their homes as a result of this disaster. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time,” wrote the Estonian Head of State.
