President Ilves offers his condolences to the people of Russia

Today President Toomas Hendrik Ilves sent a letter of condolence to Dmitri Medvedev, the Russian head of state, in connection with the terrorist attack at the Domodedovo Airport that resulted in numerous victims.

 “I am shocked and I grieve with you, lowering my head in the memory of those who were killed," President Ilves wrote to the Russian head of state. “On behalf of Estonia, I convey our condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased, to the people of Russia."

President Ilves wished a quick recovery to all those injured in the attack.

“Todays terrorist act at the Domodedovo Airport once again confirms that international anti-terrorism cooperation is important and necessary,” assured President Ilves.
