"Estonia continues to support Georgia's movement towards the European Union and NATO and at the same time I can assure you of the strong support of Estonia and our allies to your territorial integrity," said President Toomas Hendrik Ilves in his meeting today with Grigol Vashadze, the Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is on an official visit to Estonia.

"Georgia's great contribution to the NATO-led operation in Afghanistan is remarkable and sends a clear signal that Tbilisi is a major partner of the alliance," said the Estonian head of state.

President Ilves recognised Georgia for coping with the economic crisis, adding: "Deepening democracy and transparent governance and the economic development of the state are important points that the future of the Georgian state and your people can be built on."
