At the meeting, the economic relations between the two countries were discussed, including stimulating transit and tourism. President Toomas Hendrik Ilves met today with Mr. Hua Jianmin, the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, who is visiting Estonia.

At the meeting, the economic relations between the two countries were discussed, including stimulating transit and tourism. Possible co-operation between the People’s Republic of China and Estonia in the field of information technology, with special emphasis on Estonia’s experience in introducing e-government, was also under discussion.

President Ilves acknowledged the People’s Republic of China for the excellent organisation of the World Exposition EXPO 2010 in Shanghai.
