President Ilves sent his condolences to the Portuguese Head of State

"Allow me to express my profound condolences to the families and friends of the victims. I would also like to ask you to convey our sympathy to the injured and to all people who have lost their homes in this disaster," President Ilves wrote. Today, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves sent his letter of condolences to Aníbal António Cavaco Silva, President of the Portuguese Republic regarding the flash floods caused by heavy rain all over Madeira Island.

"Allow me to express my profound condolences to the families and friends of the victims. I would also like to ask you to convey our sympathy to the injured and to all people who have lost their homes in this disaster," President Ilves wrote.

"Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time."
