President Ilves met with the IMF delegation

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves met today with Christoph B. Rosenberg, the head of the IMF delegation that visited Estonia today.

At the meeting, the current state of Estonia’s financial policy and economic prospects were discussed.

Rosenberg, the head of the IMF delegation, recognized that the Estonian financial sector is stable and strong.

The meeting focused on Estonia’s responsible budgetary policy and its continuation, which is a key to recovering from the crisis and fulfilling the goal of acceding to the euro zone.

The IMF is carrying out a customary analysis of the Estonia’s economy, financial policy and financial stability based on the organization’s Article IV.
