President Ilves to participate in the 64th session of United Nations General Assembly

The President, Mr. Toomas Hendrik Ilves, and Mrs. Evelin Ilves will be leaving for New York tomorrow to participate in the 64th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Estonian Head of State will give a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on 25th September, reflecting Estonia’s view of the main problems of global politics.

President Ilves will meet with the Heads of State of Pakistan, Turkmenistan and New Zealand during the visit to discuss bilateral relations as well as security and economic issues.

The Estonian Head of State will also be participating in a representative international climatic conference in New York.

President Ilves will be visiting the panel discussion of one of the world’s most influential economic newspapers, The Wall Street Journal.

The Estonian Head of State and Mrs. Evelin Ilves will also attend the reception held by the President of the United States, Mr. Barack Obama, and Mrs. Michelle Obama, for the heads of states and their spouses who participate in the United Nations General Assembly.

President Ilves and Mrs. Evelin Ilves will also be taking part in the reception of the Estonian Educational Society of New York in the Estonian House in New York.

Mrs. Evelin Ilves will be participating in a high-level anti-AIDS international forum, taking place within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly and meeting with specialists of the New York Municipality, promoting healthy eating habits and physical movement.
