President Ilves met with Edgar Savisaar today

The Head of State stressed the need to focus on alleviating social problems, especially on helping people who have lost their jobs. At the meeting between President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and Edgar Savisaar, the Mayor of Tallinn and Chairman of the Centre Party, the discussion focused on the financial situation in Estonia’s largest local municipality during the current economic recession.

The Head of State stressed the need to focus on alleviating social problems, especially on helping people who have lost their jobs.

The current political situation and utilisation of European Union funds were also discussed at the meeting between President Ilves and Edgar Savisaar.
