President Ilves attended the signing of the grant agreement for the Educational Awards of the Head of State’s Cultural Foundation

The financing agreements for the Educational Award and the special Physical Sciences Award of the President’s Cultural Foundation were signed today at the Laupa Basic School in Järva County. The financing agreements for the Educational Award and the special Physical Sciences Award of the President’s Cultural Foundation were signed today at the Laupa Basic School in Järva County.

The Educational Award, which recognizes teachers and faculty members, as well as compilers of textbooks and educational life innovators, is financed by Sampo Bank in the sum of 175,000 EEK per year. The agreement was signed on behalf of the sponsor by Tõnu Vanajuur, Director of Personnel and Retail Banking.

“Values are meaningless for people and organizations, if there is no education: also value-based ideas or erudition is necessary,” he said.

The special prize, which recognizes teachers or faculty members of physical sciences, is financed annually in the sum of 60,000 EEK by Skype Eesti. Managing Director Sten Tamkivi signed the grant agreement on behalf of the sponsor.

The competition for the Educational Award and special Physical Sciences Award of the President’s Cultural Foundation will be announced on May 29th.
