The President of the Republic met with the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament

At today's meeting between President Toomas Hendrik Ilves's meeting with David Bakradze, the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, the Estonian Head of State encouraged Georgia to continue political and economic reforms.

"Continued democratic reforms are important for your society's development and for strengthening its international position," President Ilves stressed. "The success of Georgia's reform will have great impact on your future."

At the meeting, the Presidents also spoke about the progress of the negotiations in Geneva, which were initiated by the Sarkozy-Medvedev peace plan.

President Ilves and Chairman of the Parliament Bakradze also spoke more generally about the security of the South Caucuses and about international cooperation in the region, as well as Georgia's relations with Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey.
