The President of the Republic thanked the United States Ambassador

In Kadriorg today, United States Ambassador Stanley Davis Phillips made a farewell visit to President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, who thanked the Ambassador for his excellent work and his personal contribution to the promotion of Estonian-American relations. In recognition of the Ambassador’s service, President Ilves presented him with the Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana First Class.

At the meeting, President Ilves highlighted Estonia’s accession to the US visa waiver program during Ambassador’s Philips’s term of office. The recently inaugurated NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence and US participation in its launch were also discussed at length.
