President Ilves presented the Ernst Jaakson Scholarship to Karin Maasel

Yesterday in Kadriorg, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves presented the Ernst Jaakson scholarship to Karin Maasel, who is studying international relations at the University of Leeds.

“The Ernst Jaakson Scholarship is a prize directed at the future. This prize perpetuates the memory of an outstanding Estonian diplomat and is related to the safeguarding and securing of one’s country,” President Ilves said. “I hope that in the future you will use your knowledge for the welfare of the Republic of Estonia.”

The Ernst Jaakson Scholarship in the amount of twenty thousand EEK is distributed by the Ernst Jaakson Foundation that was established in 1998. Karin Maasel is the tenth recipient of the Ernst Jaakson Scholarship.
