The President of the Republic expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the member of the Defense Forces who died in Afghanistan

24.05.2008

“Estonia mourns the death of its soldier Sergeant Major Ivar Brok in Afghanistan,” President Toomas Hendrik Ilves said upon learning of the tragic accident that took place in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan. “I extend my hand in compassion to the wife and children of Ivar Brok, to all his relatives and friends.”

"Ivar Brok, who was serving on a mission to Afghanistan for the second time, was a capable soldier who was dedicated to his mission,” President Ilves said. “It is inconsolably painful and infinitely unfair that we must now bow our heads to commemorate Ivar Brok’s death.”
