President Ilves and Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands spoke about Estonia's IT development

Yesterday in Kadriorg, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves received Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands who arrived on a visit to Estonia. At the meeting, they spoke about Estonian-Dutch relations, the future of Europe, and about Estonia as an e-country and its developments in the field of information technology.

"Estonia and the Netherlands have been culturally connected for centuries and we understand each other splendidly," President Ilves said. According to him, the Netherlands have set a great example for Estonia of how a small country can be internationally influential.

The President of the Republic and Mrs. Evelin Ilves hosted an official dinner in honor of the Queen of the Netherlands.

The Estonian Head of State also met with the Queen of the Netherlands in June of last year when President Ilves visited the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
