Today and tomorrow, President Ilves will make a visit to the western border

Today, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves will travel to Saaremaa and Hiiumaa, in order to familiarize himself with the border guard cordons and other border guard objects, and to become acquainted with the capable border guards.

On Tuesday, President Ilves will visit Orissaare Upper Secondary School in Saaremaa, which cooperates with the Border Guard Administration, as well as the Kuressaare Airport, Roomassaare Port and the Kuressaare headquarters of the Western Region of the Border Guard.

On Wednesday, the Estonian Head of State will travel to Hiiumaa, where he will familiarize himself with the Kõpu and Kärdla border guard cordons.

During the course of the two-day visit, the Estonian Head of State will also meet with the members of the Hiiumaa and Saaremaa Brigades of the Defense League.
