President Ilves travelled to the United States on a working visit yesterday

Yesterday morning, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves travelled from Dublin to the United States on a working visit, to participate in a formal reception organized by the U.S.-Baltic Foundation in Washington D.C.

Within the course of the working visit, the Estonian Head of State will meet today with U.S. Vice-President Richard B. Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

From Washington D.C., President Ilves will travel on to Florida, where he will speak at the University of South Florida in Tampa and participate in a meeting of the Tampa World Affairs Council. The President will also visit the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) and meet with Lieutenant General Martin Dempsey, Deputy Commander of U.S. Central Command.

The President of the Republic will return to Estonia on April 23rd.
