The President of the Republic sent his congratulations to the newly elected President of Russia

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves congratulated Dmitry Medvedev on the occasion of his election as the President of the Russian Federation.

“I would welcome the opportunity to strengthen ties between Estonia and Russia in the coming years and to promote contacts in both bilateral and multilateral relations,” the Estonian Head of State wrote in his congratulatory letter to Dmitry Medvedev.

“I assure you that Estonia desires constructive, pragmatic, good-neighborly, as well as mutually respectful and beneficial relations with all its neighbors,” President Ilves added.
