The President of the Republic conveyed his condolences to the Finnish Head of State

“I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the tragic shooting incident with many casualties at Jokela Secondary School,” President Toomas Hendrik Ilves wrote in his message of sympathy to Finnish Head of State Tarja Halonen on Wednesday.

“Please accept my condolences and those of the entire Estonian nation for the families and friends of the students and teacher, and for all Finnish people, affected by this tragedy,” wrote President Ilves. “Please forward my wishes for a quick recovery to all the wounded.”

The Estonian Head of State sent his condolences to his Finnish colleague after it became known that several people were killed in Jokela Secondary School in Tuusalu, South-Finland this morning and many were wounded.
