President of the Republic congratulated the new rector of the Estonian University of Life Sciences

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves phoned Mait Klaassen and congratulated him on being named the rector of the Estonian University of Life Sciences.

“I wish the new rector strength and foresight,” said President Ilves in his greetings. “Under conditions of accelerating urbanization, it is very important to promote innovation in rural production and to offer contemporary alternatives to those whose really want to live and work in the country. I believe that under your direction our young people will get such education at the University of Life Sciences, and contribute to the modernization of Estonian rural life, particularly through research,” said the Estonian Head of State.
