Today in Kadriorg, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves received the credentials of Maria Zeneida Angara Collinson, the Ambassador of the Philippines.

According to President Ilves, the relations between the two countries have been good, and Estonia is interested in intensifying contacts. Both President Ilves and the Ambassador of the Philippines noted that they would be happy to see the cooperation between the two countries expand in both the field of economics and tourism. “We definitely wish to develop trade relations and investments between Estonia and the Philippines,” added the President of the Republic.

Ambassador Collinson stressed that in her forthcoming work, in addition to developing relations between the two countries, she would like to develop the field of information technology where Estonia and the Philippines could cooperate in the future.

At the meeting, the Estonian Head of State and the Ambassador of the Philippines discussed the question of finding an Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Estonia.
