“Estonia mourns and remembers,” President Toomas Hendrik Ilves wrote this morning at the Ministry of Defence in the commemoration book that was inaugurated on June 23rd in memory of Sergeant Kalle Torn and Junior Sergeant Jako Karuks who were killed in Afghanistan.

The Head of State expressed profound condolences to the families and friends of Kalle Torn and Jako Karuks.

Lauri Almann, the Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence, gave the Estonian Head of State, who returned yesterday from the United States, an update on the situation of the four members of the Defence Forces who were wounded in Afganistan on June 23rd.
