The President of the Republic’s Cultural Foundation announced the competition for the Educational Award

The President of the Republic’s Cultural Foundation announced the competition for the 2007 Educational Award. The deadline for submitting candidates is 21 September 2007.

Participants in the competition may include people related to education at all teaching levels, who have achieved outstanding results in Estonian educational life as teachers, faculty members, administrators of educational institutions or as workers, compilers of textbooks and methodical materials, as well as those who have initiated and implemented practical educational innovations, or developed educational policies as officials.

The supervisory board of the Cultural Foundation presents three awards valued at 75,000, 55,000 and 45,000 kroons. If necessary, educational specialists are involved in the decision-making. The educational awards are financed by Hansapank.

Candidates should submit the following: a written application with personal data, a detailed description of the activity being submitted, and two letters of recommendation from one’s employer or co-workers, and from an occupational, professional, or specialty association(s).

Candidates conforming to the requirements, their employers and educational institutions as well as associations dealing with education-related activities can submit applications. The proposals will be submitted to the Cultural Foundation by the Estonian Union of Educational Personnel (EUEP) in cooperation with other educational unions, societies, and associations, as well as the members of the Cultural Foundation Supervisory Board. The EUEP may submit up to ten candidates to the supervisory board.
